Colorintech.org is a UK-based non-profit organisation dedicated to making the tech industry more inclusive for underrepresented professionals. We recognise that modern slavery and human trafficking are grave violations of human rights, and we are committed to ensuring that our operations and supply chains are free from such practices.
This statement outlines our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking, and the steps we are taking to achieve this.
Our Commitment
Colorintech.org is committed to:
- Operating ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
- Implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking placeanywhere in our organisation or supply chains.
- Maintaining transparency and accountability in our approach to combating modern slavery.
- Raising awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation and among our stakeholders.
Our Structure and Supply Chains
As a non-profit organisation, our primary activities involve:
- Delivering educational programs, workshops, and events.
- Facilitating networking and mentorship opportunities.
- Advocating for diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
Our supply chains are relatively limited and mainly consist of:
- Event venues and catering services.
- Printing and marketing materials.
- Technology and software providers.
- Consultancy and freelance services.
We recognise that even within these limited supply chains, there is a potential risk of modern slavery.
Our Due Diligence Processes
To mitigate the risk of modern slavery, we are implementing the following due diligence processes:
- Supplier Due Diligence: We will conduct due diligence on our key suppliers to assess their commitment to ethical labour practices. This will include seeking assurances that they comply with relevant legislation and have their own anti-slavery policies in place.
- Contractual Obligations: We will incorporate clauses into our contracts with suppliers that require them to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and ensure their supply chains are also free from modern slavery.
- Risk Assessment: We will conduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential modern slavery risks within our operations and supply chains.
- Employee Awareness: We will provide training to our employees and volunteers to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking, and to ensure they understand their responsibilities in preventing it.
- Reporting Mechanisms: We will establish clear reporting mechanisms for employees and stakeholders to raise concerns about potential modern slavery risks.
Our Ongoing Efforts
We understand that combating modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to:
- Regularly reviewing and updating our policies and procedures to ensure they remain effective.
- Continuously improving our due diligence processes.
- Collaborating with other organisations and stakeholders to share best practices and promote awareness.
- To keep our employees updated with the information about the modern slavery act.
Responsibility
The Board of Colorintech.org has overall responsibility for this policy and its implementation.
